(OUE PARLIAMENTARY REPORTER.)
The Land Question.
Wellington, This Day. At a meeting of the members of the Lands Committee (Mr Hogg presiding), the report of the Land and Survey Department, just circulated, was discussed. A general opinion was expressed, that in view of the large areas being alienated from the Crown, and the limited amount of land of a quality suitable for industrial settlement still remaining in the hands of the State, an alteration in the system of administration should bo urged. A committee was appointed to prepare a report for submission to a further meeting next week.
Physical Drill in Schools.
Several amendments have been made in Mr Guinness’ School Children Drill Bill by the Statutes Revision Committee.
