FEDERAL PARLIAMENT.

PER PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.J

Melbourne, August 30. Mr Barton, in reply to a question, made a statement in reference to the trouble with the Victoria Parliament in regard to housing the Federal Parliament and said that the negotiations with the State Parliament with reference to the occupancy of Parliament House had come to a standstill, but the matter would be dealt with in the Cabinet.

A member complained of the inhospitality of the Victorians, and urged that the present position of affairs was an indignity to the Federal Parliament. Some members advocated the erection of temporary buildings, and ono that Mr Barton should shift them over to Sydney at once.
