MRS. DOWLING.

Death has been very busy in our midst lately. Mrs. Dowling, an old former resident of Paroa, passing away, this morning, added one more to the list. Mrs. Dowling had not been in the best of health for months past, and about a week ago a cold settled on her lungs, causing acute pneumonia, from which the poor lady died at seven this morning. The deceased was one of the pioneers of Paroa and with her husband fought the hard mining life necessary in opening up the district. She was the mother of a fairly large family, four daughters and one son, to whom along her husband and her brother-in-law the whole district extends its sincerost sympathy in their, bereavement.
