Concerning Bank Clerks. I Wellington, This Day. The Hon. Mr Bolt has given notice in the Council of his intention to ask the Government on Friday next if they will take steps to bring the salaries of underpaid bank clerks up to the current standard of pay. Be said it was a matter of public notoriety and public comment that many bank clerks were underpaid. Marriage of Bank Clerks. Mr Bolt will also ask the Government to take necessary steps to remove the present restrictions regarding marriage which is placed on bank clerks by the institutions they serve. Advance to Settlers. A lengthy debate is probable on the third reding of the Government Advances to Settlcrs’s Extension Bill. State Bank of Issue. Mr Ell is working up a movement in favor of a discussion on a State Bank of Issue. Tom Hamer 111 Tom Hamer, the popular private secretary of the Premier, who has been iu ill health for some time, has gone to Rotorua on a short visit.
