THE HON. MR KERR’S ILLNESS
(OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Westport, This Day. The Hon, Mr Kerr is very much better to-night. The Doctor is quite satisfied with his progress. His friends who have seen him are much easier in minds than they were this morning, I might safely say he is now out of danger. Asthmatic spasms were of course very distressing, and friends who had not previously seen .'similar attacks regarded them as evidence of a much more serious illness than was really the case. Mr Kerr, however, has be.en bad enough. Qe was ill before leaving Wellington, and the voyage in the cold cabin did not improve him. Since his arrival, he could not be better attended to in his own home by Greymouth friends. Dr Mackenzie says we may expect to hear of the patient being fit to proceed home shortly.
