NEW ZEALAND TELEGRAMS.

(per press association.) The Auckland Abortion Case. Auckland, August 30.

The charge of manslaughter by means of an illegal operation against Dr Wilkins was continued to-day. Dr Wilkins in bis evidence emphatically denied the charge and witnesses were called for the defence for the purpose of accounting for the hours in the afternoon during which the operation was alleged to have been performed. After several hours’ retirement the jury announced that they could not agree and were dismissed. The case will be re-heard at the next sittings of the Supremo Court.
