THE CHINESE SETTLEMENT.
Punishment of Murderers.
Received this day at 9 18 a. m. London, Aug 20,
Morrison states that Great Britain has announced that she will reconsider the arrangement to withdraw her troops from China, unless the authors of the massacre of missionary Thompson and four British women and four children at Ghuchan in July last year are forthwith punished. The execution of the ones guilty of the murder is demanded and penalties for others are allowed to be modified.
