An Escaped Prisoner.

A prisoner named Edward Wilson escaped from Shelly Bay, Wellington Harbor yesterday afternoon and is still at large.

Frederick Nelson, who accidentally fell down a lift at Firth’s Bond on Tuesday, died in the hospital. Sapier Woollen Factory N api eb, This Day. There is every prospect of the Hawkes Bay Wooll- n Coy making, an early start. An advantageous offer has been received from a southland firm to remove their plant and begin work here. The Arbitration Court has fined Henry Fielder £5 and costs for employing two men at a less rate of wages and employing a greater number of apprentices than allowed under the award. Supremo Court Sittings. At the Supreme Court Albert Watkins for assault and robbery at P Imerston North was sentenced to two years. Walter Richmond was convicted of sheep stealing, and was admitt dto probation for twelve month-. Richmond pleaded guilty toan attempt to int rb re with witnesses, and as probation could not be grantid, the Judge sentenced him to six days' imprisonment counting from Monday last.
