Wellington, Aug. 16. In the House at 10.30 the Juvenile Smoking Suppression Bill was read a first time. Tho Presbyterian Church of New Zealand Bill passed its final stages. Carrol moved the second reading of the Charitable Gifts Bill to exempt charitable gifts form payment of stamp duty, which was agreed to on the voices. In the House, section 2 of Hospital Nurses’ Registration Bill was amended in Committee so as to bring private hospitals within its provisions.
