Reception to New South Wales’ Team. The Intercolonial Hatches. (per press association.) Wellington, This Day. The Wellington team to play against New South Wales on Saturday will be' as follows? Wrigley, Bow, Wallace, Slattery, Wood, Meredith, Manson, Kelly, Watkins, Dodd, Adams, Skelton, O’Brien, McAndely and Gallagher. The New South Wales’ football team were formally welcomed at the Council Chambers by the Hon. Mr. Carroll, on behalf of the Ministry, and the Mayor on behalf of the city. Field, M.H.8., and Campbell also spoke. The latter mentioned with approval that both unions had decided that the training and discipline of the teams in future should not be interfered with by indiscriminate banqueting. Henderson, manager for tbe visitors, replying, said he regretted that a number of the best men were unable to make the trip, but they would find the team would give a good account of themselves. Alluding to the English team that visited Australia recently, he explained that they, being mostly students and professional men, could not get extended leave to enable them to visit New Zealand, From what he saw of them he had no doubt that New Zealand could have easily held its own, strong players though the Englishmen were. Respecting the proposal to hold a conference re rules, it was approved in Australia, but that it should take place in an off season.
