Christchurch, August 12. The C.J.C. Grand National meeting •pened to-day in lovely weather, and before a large attendance. The totalisator receipts amounted to £16,395. The following result came to hand after we went to press yesterday WINTER CUP. Ostiak 1 Mors 2 Battleaxe 3 All started. Won easily, Time, 1 413-5. Div., £6 5s 6d and £8 8s 6d. GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLE.
