The Presbyterian Assembly sustained the overture from the New South Wales Assembly, expressing sympathy with the idea of a United Evangelistic Christian Church of Australia, and appointed a committee to consider the principles on which the Presbyterian Church was prepared to participate in a larger union and report at the next Assembly.
