GOLD DREDGING.
The Maori Queen dredge is running smoothlj. Tho patent grab hooks that were put on tho ladder are working admirably. The wash is getting looser and mproving.
The Foley’s Creek Company, who some time ago took over the Marsdcn new claim, have dismissed all bands. The supposed cause-is that the company in question some time ago issued 1,500 preference shares of £l, which have not been taken up.
At the rate in wlrch work is being pushed on on the Marsden No. 3 dredge, she will have her first washing up shortly before Christmas. Tho man in the street, writes our Kumara correspondent says that the Greenstone Throe Mi o will get 40jzs this week. Let us hope that this usually mendacious personage will prove a true prophet this lime. It is however premature to judge next Saturday’s results. In your dredging notes of Monday’s issue, says our Kurnara correspondent I am credited with saying that tho Bung Tuck tailraco is proving richer than was expected. The word should have been wider not richer. Worse Luck 1
