Crushing Defeat of Findley. (per pbess association.) [BY BIiKCTUIC TEDKGIiAPn —COPYRIGHT.] Melbourne, July 16. "Findley, who was expelled from the House, was defeated by Deogan at East Melbourne by nearly two to one. A scene occurred at the polling booth owing to a camera being used at the booth fo; the purpose of aiding the detection of impersonators. The Government ordered its discontinuance, but before, it was effected Dr Maloney, a member of the Assembly, entering to vote, saw ■ the camera and smashed it. ' The Premier sought the advica of the Imperial Government in seizing and suppressing the Tocsin. Mr Chamberlain replied, deprecating such aotions. The leader of the Opposition protested against Government seeking advice. He should have taken the whole responsibility and not place the S-'ato in the position of little more than a Crown colony.
