CONCERT AT BRUNNERTON.

A vay successful concert was held in the Catholic School Brunnerton on Saturday evening. Mr W. Walton opened the entertainment with an exhibition of magnificent limelight views. Mis 3 Chapman's of "Island of Dreams" immeestablished her as a favourite with the audience. An enthusiastic recall resulted, and Miss Chapman responded with a charming ballad "Sweet Memories." Mr Staples's fin 9 voice was heard to advantage in "Queen- of the Earth." Mis 3 Franklin artistically gave "The Link Divine," which was followed by the favorite "Consider the Lillies," sung by Mr A. Tonkies who was in splendid voice. Tho limelight views with** which the song was illustrated were all that an artist could desire. Miss Hilderbrand's "Song that reached my Heart," was sympathetically sung and loudly applauded. Mr Fred Hoslin gave a vigorous rendering of (, The White Squall," which was greatly appreciated by his hearers. •'A Wizard from Jacksons Bay'' gave a clever exhibition of sleight of hand completely mystifying the audience. The conjurors very e'ever card shuffling was rewarded with frequent applause. Miss Hylda Beresford's comic song "Carolina Carrib" brought down the house, and she had to respond with "Why did I leave my little back room". A Cornet solo "Air Varie" was cleverly played by Master W. Evans, the difficult variations excited the wonder and admiration of the audierce and loud applause showed how the number was appreciated. Mr Tomkies concluded the vocal part of the programme by singing "The Villiage Blacksmith" in his usual cultured style. Miss Ethel Grogan and the Bev Father Kimbell

played the accompaniments. After Mr Walton had exhibited more views the Bev Father Kimbell gave a short Organ Beeital on the new instrument recently acquired by the church. The Eeoital consisted of selections from the works of Hydo, Mendelssohn and Gounod which showed off to advantage tho fine qualities of the new organ. The concert was one of the most sue. oessful held for a long time in Brunnerton,
