WEST COAST RUGBY UNION.
A Committee meeting of the abovo waa held las 5 evening at the Albion Hotel. Present—Mbssrs Burke, (chair' Skoglund, Fiynn, Conway, O'Donnell, Adams, Dansey, Hallinan, Nelson, and Walton. A protest was received from Red Hoses against awarding their match with Brunnor ll's to the latter club, but after hearing the evidence of the referee it was decided to dismiss the protest on the grounds of having no jurisdiction. It was resolved that a member of tho Brunncr ll's who had been ordered off tho field of play by tho referee, in the match Stars v Brunner ll's bo written to, pointing out the seriousness of his conduct and warning him that any such conduct in the future would be d alt with in a much firmer manner.
Mr Skoglund reported having attended a Conference of Eefereea during a visit to Wellington, for which a vote of thanks was accorded. It was decided that Hokitika v. Brannor match; to have been played last Saturday, be declared a forfeit in favour of Brunner.
The protest lodged by Brunner against Grey I, being awarded a try in the late match, was withdrawn upon the motion of Mr Hallinan, the Brunner Club's delegate.
The Secretary was instructed to write to Nelson Rugby Union, to ascertain if there was any likelihood of that Union visiting the Coast this season,
