A BRUNNERTON TROOPER WOUNDED.
(To the Editor.) Sie, —The enclosed letter and telegram, anent the misfortune of an old Brunner
boy " now at the front," and addressed to the " Editor of the Brunner News," has reached me at Hokitika. The "News " not being published at present, I forward same for your perusal and publication should you deem the subject matter worthy of a par in your valuable columns. Yours, — F. Angel.
... Owaka, June 28th, 1901. Sib, —Will you please insert the enclosed in your paper, as my son was a pupil at TJobsDn town school, where his father resided for a number of years both in Brunnerton and Dobson town (at one time known as Lower Wallsend). It will be of interest to many of our old friends and his school mates. James is 20 years of age, and has still memories of his old home. I remain,— Johanna Ewabt. TEfcEGBAM. "Mbs Johanna Ewabt, Owaka, Otago. —I regret to inform you that a cable has been received from the Casualty Department, Capetown, stating that your son, James Ewart (No. 3727) was accidentally wounded on the 16th June near Pardeplats. The wound is in the foot, but not serious, and the sufferer is progressing favorably. I trust to hear shortly he has quite recovered. —E. J. Seddon."
