Three Lives Lost. (Pj«r Prbss Association.) Dunedint, July 3. Gangs of men worked all last night to reaoh the men entomed by the fall of earth near the Government lime kilns at Inch Valley. It was not expected the men would be found alive and the worst fears were confirmed at 3 a. m. when the bodies of Murray and Plynn were found close together. The former was penned behind the truck, Flynn's body was knocked about considerably, the body of Hannah was found nearer the end of tfce cutting. He had evidently made a dash for the face but was caught by falling material. The outting is 30fc deep, the formation being of a loose gravelly nature. No doubt the responsibility for having fie men working under the circumstances they were, wi'l bo made clear at the inquest. Five men had been at work, one had gone for ihe mail and another named Service had been apprehensive of the place. Murray [called out that the wall had cracked and coming down. Service ran and was hardly clear when the bank came down and what wa3 intended as a j )ke proved a terrible reality. Dusbdix July 4. The inquest on the man killed by the fall of earth at Inch Valley lime kilns was opened to-day, whan the bodies of G. Hannan, Donald Murray and W. Flynn were identified. The jary will visit the spot to-morrow. The inquest is not expected to oonclude till some time next week..
