Wellington, This Day. "After what has fallen from the lips of the junior member for Dunedin, it is unnecessary for me to say anything further" the Premier's left handed compliment to Mr Barclay's treatise on constitutional practices.
The first measure introduced by Government's message was an Indemnity Bill to cover the expenditure by local bodies in connection with the Royal visit. Mr T. MacKenzie is inviting the Government to establish a sanatorium in the vicinity of Naseby. Mr Jettings: "The Money Lenders Bill, which will be under the care of the Hon. Hall-Jones I understand, is to be aimed at preventing usurious rates of interest being charged." Captain Russell wants to know what action has been taken with respect to resolution passed by Parliament on closing day of last session in favor of incorporation of Fiji.
Mr Guinness suggests that the Bill brought in last session prohibiting the importation of opium be re-introduced this year.
