The weather was showery and the track heavy for the third day of the Auckland Racing Club's Winter Meeting. The attendance was fair, and the sum of £9,308 passed through tho totalisator. Results:—
Maiden Steeplechase—Pungarohu 1, Kowhia 2, Hylas 3. Time, 4 52. Div, £4 17s. Rufus was scratched.
Welter—Beddington 1, Yolee 2, Si Peter 3. Time, 1 54. Div, £9 15s Scratched—Motor, Winsome, Dartmoor, and La Gloria.
Steeplechase—Voltigeur 111, Princess Thule 2, Plain Bill 3. Time, 6 42. Div, £29 15s, Scratched—Nor’-west and Tarrigan.
Hurdles—Hair-tirgger 1, Royal Conqueror 2, Dartmoor 3. Time, 3 43. Div, £3 2s.
Maiden Welter —Greshan 1, Balburnie 3, Highlander 3. Time, 1 25. Div, £7 18s. Scratched—Swimmer.
Hunters’ Steeplechase—Natation 1. Miss Drury 2, Peter Simple 3. Time, 3 39. Div, £1 17s. Scratched—Pills, Riot, Charcoal, Marine Rufus and Bicycle. Farewell Handicap—St Olga 1, Lady Avon 2, St Peter 3. Time, 1 10. Div, £3 18s. Scratched—Motor, and Gang Forward. Delia Rose, St Peter and St Olgt? were bracketted.
If these crude oils, or so-callcd_ Eucalypti Extracts, are applied by mistake in cases of croup, bronchitis, dipthcria, internal inflammation, dysentry, etc., the consequences are most appalling.
