FOOTBALL.

[Per Press Association.] Wellington y Nelson.

'Wellington, June 19,

The representative football match (Wellington v Nelson) was played to-day and was won by the home team by 31pts to nothing. Nine tries were scored, two of which were converted. The visitors were cutlassed at every point. The game, though the state of the ground may have had something to do with their poor display. The game was really a scramble in the mud and water, which was ankle deep all over the field. It also rained heavily during play.
