OUR CADETS.

[OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.]

CnEisTCHUECH, This Day. The West Coast Cadets are practising the march past in Cranmer Square under the command of Major Bichards. The Grey boys, who are the only company in uniform, are doing remarkably well and will not disgrace the town they represent. They have already won praise for their drill, and the daily papers speak in high terms of their bearing and behaviour. They are in excellent health and spirits, excepting one or two whom the severe strain of yesterday's drill taxed rather much, but these will be all right and in the thick of it to-morrow. The teachers aae doing their utmost to render their visit pleasurable and educative and provide every comfort possible. Yesterday they had a glorious outing to Sumner and were catered for right royally. The residents remarking on their exemplary conduct. This afternoon, if the commanding officer does not need their services too long, they will visit the Mnseum. Parents and guardians need have no anxiety, as Mr. Adams and his assistants anticipate their every want. Wellington, This Day. Owing to the treatment the Cadets received on the passage from Greymouth to Wellington and their transhipment after an hour in Wellington, Mr Petrie interviewed Mr Seddon and strongly protested against it. Mr Beddon was very wrath at the action and gave those responsible for it a great wigging. He issued instructions to Captain Loveday to take control and give special attention and special eomforts; also to see they are to have as much legitimate enjoyment in Christchurch as possible. He intends to have it out with the Union Coy for lack of accommodation etc. on Corinna.
