THE AUCKLAND FIRE.

Auckland, June 18. At the inquest on the Grand Hotel fire, Johnston, licensee, said he believed the fire was wilfully caused and gave reasons for so thinking. It startod in the dining room not the kitchen. The windows leading into the balcony were not locked, and the key of the door leading from the dining room to the passage was missing since the Tuesday before the fire. He had another roason, and on being pressed said his wife had bronght an action for slander against an employee. The Coroner Baid there was nothing in all this.
