THE WEST COAST CADETS.
(per press association.)
Cheistchuech, This Day. The Cadets from the West Coast were comfortably housed at the Normal School to-day. A little delay occurred at first, as the Normal School children still occupied the building, but they were soon dismissed and the visitors were put in and supplied with provisions. In the afternoon they were put through their drill by Major Richards, who will command the Canterbury battalion.
This evening they were all comfortably quartered in the various schoolrooms in the building. Both officers and boys are loud in their praise of the courtesy and consideration they receive from the teachers at the Normal School and the Education Board officials. All the boys are comfortable, and seem to have quite recovered from the effects of the voyage from Westport to Wellington. The only complaint is in regard to this: They say that though the food was very good the accommodation was not satisfactory.
