Hong Kong, June 14. The permanent garrison remaining at Tientsin consists of the Hong Kong Regiment and the 31st Madras Infantry, with Pompoms. At Shanhaikwan the garrison consists of the 4th Gurkha Infantry. An Imperial edict grants all the Powers demands, and the signature will be completed at the end of June. The Chinese literary and Military examinations will be suspended for five years in all the provinces where there have been anti-foreign riots since 1900. The Mikado cordially entertained General von Waldersee. Paris, June 14, Satisfaction is expressed in Prance at the British proposal in reference to the China settlement, otherwise Great Britain and France had been virtually solo gu iranators of the loan. Lord Cranbourne stated that the Allies agreed upon the necessity of maintaining 6000 troops in North China.
