GREY COUNTY COUNCIL.
A special meeting of the above Council was held yesterday afternoon,,Present: — The Chairman (Mr M’Kechnie) Messrs Byall, Marshall, Hargraves, Larkin, M'Carthy, Flynn and Harris.
The Council went in to Committee to •insider the' “Local Authorities Bill”. Besolved that the Chairman and the Clerk represent the Council at the Local Authorities Bill Cofaferenoe. Resolved that the Chairman represent ♦he Council at Wellington during the Royal Visit. From Borough Council relative to the erection of a lamp in commemoration of the Royal visit. Received.
Cr. Harris moved that the Council cooperate and pay one-third of the cost, conditional that the Council have a voice in the site for its erection. Carried. 1 From Maori Gully Gold Dredging Company, offering to pay £37 10s for the erection of a new bridge over Maori Gully Creek. The Chairman moved that the Council accept tenders if the Company give £B7 10s. Cr. Harris seconded. Cr. Hargraves said though the Company should not demur to give an extra £7. Others had given more. Motion lost.
Resolved that the Council adhere to their former resolution —that the Company pay one-quarter of cost.
Resolved that the next meeting be held July Bth, ..
