Invercargill, Juno 10. The Supreme Court resumed to-day befero Judge Cooper. Prudence Jarvis, a married woman, was charged with theft of £li. at Orepuke from the house of Michael Marname and property of his brother David. The jury found her guilty under the impulse of the moment with strong recommendation to mercy. The accused was placed on probation for twelve months,
David Swan, charged with aggravated assault on a man named o‘Regan, was acquitted. Both parties were drunk and His Honor said the case should have been dealt with by the Magistrate.
