Dissolution of Parliament. Received this day at 9 26 a m. Sydney, This Day. The proclamation dissolving Parliament will be issued to-day. The Australian Tariff.
As a result of the reduction of excise duties on tobacco, yesterday was a record at the Custom House. Over £56,000 was paid on tobacco. Heavy payments on customs also continue in anticipation of the Federal Parliament raising both customs and excise duties at an early date.
the Oil Steamer “ Turbo. ” Received this day at 9 26 a m. Sydney, June 14,
In connection with the arrival of the oil steamer “ Turbo ” works erected at ' a cost of thirty thousand to deal with the oil-bulk were installed. At a gathering of representative business men the announcement was made that New Zealand wants for the present would be supplied with oil from Sydney.
