BILLIARD CHAMPIONSHIP.

There was not quite so large an audience at Tattersall’s Horse Bazaar, Christchurch, when Messrs Weiss and Memrnott played their second public game of billiards, last Friday as on the previous evening. Weiss conceded his opponent 100 out of 500, and opened with a break of 15. Memmott put on 64 in his first break. 31 in his second, which was followed by two breaks each of 43, then a break of 13, followed by one of 12, the next was 13. Breaks by Memmott of 2,4, 101, 57,15, 78 followed, and he won with an unfinished break of 163. Weiss, after his first breaks put Up a total of 351, with the following breaks: —8,35, 8, 13, 2, 35, 7,7, 8, 17, 44, 47, 56, and 21. Memmott’s highest finished break was 101, and the greatest break put up by Weiss was 56. From the opening of the game it was seen that Memmott was in better form than his opponent, though neither player made many misses. When the interval was taken the score stood Memmott 502, Weiss 329. Weiss only added 22 to his score when play resumed, and Memmott put together 241 m two breaks —one of 78 and an unfinished one of 163—by very excellent and judicious play.
