[pee press association.]
Wellington, June (1.
Several Chambers of Commerce have agreed to the scheme for Federation drawn up by the Wellington Chamber. From Auckland and Dunedin, however, have Come objections to the articles of association drafted by Wellington, taking exception to the proposal to register under the Companies Act. A suggestion from Auckland is that the Federation shouffi be of a more simple character. This, it is pointed out by Wellington, would he really no federation at all, since any scheme to be effective must have an executive head and proper machinery. The Council of the Wellington Chamber considers that the Federation proposal having been remitted to Wellington fora draft scheme, it is UoW for the Chambers objecting to suggest .the’alterations they consider desirable. A Committee has been appointed to draw up a reply to Auckland and Dunedin.
