Australian Contingents in China. Received this day at 10.6 a.m. Melbourne, June 7. A letter was read to the House from Lieut-General Qaselee thanking N.S. Wales and Victoria for the China contingent. It was an object lesson to foreigners as was the Indian subjects patriotism to the Empire, Trouble With Returning Troops. Trouble arose during the voyage of the troops in the Morayshire from the Gape. A number of men were imprisoned and refused to do sailors’ work. Their comrades wrecked the guard room and released them.
