Rbefton, Juno 3.

The sad intelligence reached town this afternoon that a man named Peterson, working in tho Low Level tunnel, was seriously injured by a fall of stone which fell without warning. He was partly entombed. His mate, Charles Martin, extricated him with difficulty. The injury is severe, the stress of the accident falling on the spinal column. Ho was conveyed to tho hospital. Another man, in tho employ of Mr Robert Kearns, Golden Point, was injured by a rolling log, sustaining a contusion of tho thigh. Mr Kearns immediately drove to tho scene of the acci dent, and brought back tho injured man, who is now under the care of Dr Coulou.
