Captain Malcolm Hipswcll, of the South Australian Bushmen, died of enteric. Casualties in the fighting between Bethel and Standerton arc
South Australian Bushmen—Privates Goodes, Killcs; Corporal Lansdcll; and Private Hicks, wounded.
Queensland Bushmen —Privates Hunt and Hendry, killed ; Corporal Mitchell, Privates Wheatley, Harvey, Mason, Campbell, Careless, Sweeney and Tom]), wounded.
One of the Tenth Hussars was killed and seven wounded.
Two of the First Minster Fusiliers were killed and six wounded. One of the Somerset was killed and four wounded. A private of the Twelfth Lancers was killed and engineer wounded.
No official details of fighting has been received, the Standard’s correspondent being responsible for the report that Yiljoons attacked Plumcr. The total casualties reported,includin minor engagement in the Transvaal Orange Bivcr and Cape Colony, arc in all 30 killed and 48 wounded.
The casualties at Klappan in the Mounted Hides are Lieutenant Wedd severely wounded, and Privates Town and Korleau slightly wounded.
Major-General W. Knox was aboard the armoured train recently dynamited southwards of Yredcfort road. _ One officer and sergeant were severely injured. Colonel Allenby on Saturday surprised Joachim Prinsloo’s laager at Wilgerover, capturing many Boors, rifles, ammunition ami cattle.
Licbenbcrg’s commando of four hundred strong twice desperately attacked a convoy at Dietfontcin Drift. The Boors were repulsed with a loss of fourteen killed and nine wounded.
Boer raiders in the vicinity of Coles, berg have re-crossed the Orange Diver.
