North Otago Races.
Oamaru, May 29
The weather to-day for the winter meeting of the North Otago Jockey Club was fine and the attendance fair, £1283 went through the totalisator. The results are:—
Newborough Hurdles—Waikaia 1 Derry 2, Dundee 3. Tho only starters Won by half a length. Divs, £3 and £1 10s.
Winter Welter Handicap—Fighting Mac 1, Lady Lillian 2, Grandshot 3. Also ran—Nor’wester, Taranto, Silver Eupee, Ayrdale and Eemember Me. The winner was never headed. Time, 117 3-5; divs, £4 16s and £2 Bs. President’s Handicap—Cameo 1, Nihilist 2, Strathnairn 3. Also ran—Belligerent. Cameo won by a length and a half Time. 2 12 2-5; divs. £5 10s and £2 15s Camara Handicap Trot—Eeprieve 1. Robert W. 2, Glenti 3. All ran but Maori Lad and Kenny. Won by six lengths. Divs, £4 16s and £2 8s; time, 5 35 2-5.
Redcastle Welter —Fighting Mac 1 Wild West 2, Vandyke 3, Time, 116 3-5; divs, £7 and £3 10s. Magnificent, Long Tom, and Miss Hellene also ran.
Hack Eace—Norwester 1, Sympathy 2, Pigeon Toe 3. Time, 53 2-5 ; divs, £1 IGs and 18s.
Flying Handicap—Goldspur 1, Tsaritsa 2, Hypnotist 3. Also ran—Hermosa, Spider and Sharpshell 3. Won by a length. Time, 1 2 2-5; div, £3 12s and £ll6s. v
