The Duchess and a number of the Royal party yesterday visited the National Park. Virtually Manslaughter. At the inquest on the Broken Hill accident, evidence was given that some of the miners objected to working in the place where the fall occurred, considering it unsafe. The jury returned an open verdict adding that in their opinion the accident would have been averted if the deceased and the underground manager and inspector of the mine had taken more care. * A relief fund has been started. The Duke has consented to give a sitting to Tom Roberts, the well-known artist, for a large historical picture, depicting his reading the Royal message at the opening of the Commonwealth Parliament.
