CINDERELLA EXTRAVAGANZA.

The Operetta Extravaganza Cinderella will be produced on Wednesday next at. the Opera House. It is the first of its kind ever produced on a Greymouth stage, and all lovers of music will fully appreciate it, and as it is just as entertaining to young as to old. The Black Swan Orchestra - composed of all the talented players of Greymouth—is again to the fore, and brightens the whole with their sweet music. Miss Mabel Basson acts as aecompanyist throughout, and too much praise cannot be accorded her for the assiduous manner in which she has practised with one and all. The numerous dances which are introduced!, throughout, are also due to her tuition. The monkeys will be a. special feature of the evening and the two. rats transformed to coachman and footman (Miss Hilda Stace and Master W.. Evans) do a very ’ graceful Pas Beal.. Cinderella (Miss Sarah Sweetman) is first, depicted as a little kitchen maid and is then transformed by her Godmother (Miss Harriet Walshe) and her attendant fairies, into a beautiful Princess. The Prince (Mr Kossuth Skoglund) is charmed with Cinderella and after her disappearance at the ball determines to find her. The two unkind stepsisters, Miss Hilda Beresford as Patience of a musical frame of mind and Miss Jessie Matheson as Charity of a poetical nature with their fond but fussy Papa, Mr Pegler, supply the humourous situations. Lady Guy (Miss Mona Dunford) a charming young widow bent on fascinating Papa, and Mr Douglas Galloway as attendant to the Prince are equally funny. The whole is assisted by a chorus of Fairies, Peasants, and Courtiers, numbering 60. Songs and dances are introduced throughout, which adds beauty and primitiveness to the scene. A full practice takes place to-morrow (Friday) evening at the schoolroom.
