Warship Quarantined.

The warships Karrakatta and Boomerang have returned from Brisbane, One of the Karrakaatt’s marines is ill of suspected plague and the vessel has been isolated. Received at 9 51 a m. The Plague. Brisbane, May 28. Lockycr is dead. Methodist General Conference. The Methodist General Conference adopted resolutions “ That precedence of religions bodies in official functions will lie accorded solely on Ike ground of the numerical position of the churches apart altogether from any titles or designations of heads thereof known, and agamst any alteration in the coronation oath, which would in any degree relax the safeguard ensuring the protestaut succession, or permit tho oath or declarations to ho understood any other than ordinary meaning. Resolved to ask the Federal Premier to take steps to safeguard the missionaries in the New Hebrides. The union of the Methodist churches will be deemed general from January Ist next and the name will be the Methodist Church of Australasia, adopted notwithstanding the non-inclusion of the New Zealand primitives.
