THE DUKE OF QUEENSLAND.
(per press association.—COPYßlGHT.)
Brisbane, May 27. ♦The Duke allowed his views regardingQueensland to bo expressed through a member of tho suite. He said he had been greatly impressed with all he had seen in Australia, and tho great ferule territory-lying right to the door of Brisbane, conveyed a wonderful impression of tho richness of the territory and room for a very large population, bursting as it seemed to do into the verdant Darling Downs, completed the delight of _ the Duchess and himself. Coming direct from crowded England, and contrasting the beauty and openness of Queensland, struck them with greater force. He was highly gratified at the receptions, and left with regret and gratitude. He felt certain the people of the State would make it that great and prosperous adjunct to the Empire that by nature it was intended to be.
