The Duke presented Barton with a beautiful gold snuff box handsomely embellished with the Royal Arms and monolgram on blue enamel on lid, large brown rubies and Prince of Wales feathers in diamonds tied on with a clasp of emeralds. The bos is set with six large diamonds. Jenkins, Clerk of Parliaments; Chomoley, Commissioner of Police; M'Culloch, Chairman Celebrations Committee; and Peacock, Lieutenant-Governor; have also received valuable gifts. Brisbane, May 18.
Lord Hopctoun intimated that the Yorks leave Brisbane on Friday next instead of Saturday as previously fixed. A rehearsal of the landing was held, the Governor representing the Royal party. He left the Government domain by the steamer Lucenda and landed at Petrie's Bight where the Mayor and Aldermen went through the ceremony of welcoming. The actual landing takes place at 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon. Wellington, May 18. The Governor left for Sydney by the Mokoia on Saturday. Lady Eanfurly and suite goes to Auckland at the end of the month and will be joined there shortly afterwards by His Excellency.
A proclamation declares j;he following holidays for the Royal visit:—Auckland district, 11th and 12th of June ; Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson, aud Westland, 17th, 18th, and 20th ; Canterbury, 21st and 22nd ; Otago, 25th and 26th. Brisbane, May 18.
In reply to a memoranda submitted by the Acting-Premier and forwarded by the Governor to Lord Hopetoun, the latter stated there was no desire to cast a slur upon Queensland as a place infected with plague but there might be a slight risk on account of the_ more stringent regulations in Sydney in which case the Royal visit there might be jeoparised, Hopetoun also "states that the squadron will visit Brisbane but it is impossible for the Ophir to do so. The Governor meets the Royal train at the Wales Border on Sunday morning and officially welcomes the Royal Party. Wellington, May 17.
With regard to the cable received from Mr Ward the other day stating that all the streets through which the Iloyal party passes must be roped off, the Citizens' Eeception Committee to-day decided that they could not undertake to do this on account of the expense. The committee also came to the decision that it was no part of its duty to provide cabs for the Puke's suite.
Sydney, This Day, Hon Mr Ward, Hon Jenkinson and a number of other visitors from the Melbourne celebrations with. 200 soldiers, were passengers by the Monowai.
The train reached Albury at 5 30 last night. The station was handsomely decorated.

The Mayor's daughter presented the Duchess with a beautiful boquet.
The Royal Party, accompanied by Lord Hopetoun, proceeded to the dias outside the station where a large crowd assembled.
The school children sang the National Anthem and the Yorks bowed their acknowledgements, amid continuous and enthusiastic cheering.
By request, there was no presentation, addresses or speeches. The ceremony occupied only a few minutes.
The party then hoarded the special train provided by the N. S. Wales Government under the direction of the Chief Railway Commissioner, which started on its long journey northwards. A number of detectives are aboard the train.
