The King's Birthday. Received this day at 8 50 a. m. London, May 19,
The fact of the Court being in mourning precludes the observance of the 24th as the Kings birthday, but in order that civil servants should not be deprived of the holiday, the King has ordered that the day be observed quietly in memory of his mother. There are indications that some functions associated with the Sovereigns birthday has been fixed ultimately for a day in summer, probably the anniversary of the Coronation.
