SUEZ CANAL.
Contradiction is given to a report that the widening and deepening of the Suez Canal is contemplated, it being explained that owing to the improvements which have been effected during the past 15 years, and on which large sums of money have been spent, it would be fully able to meet the requirements of an increased traffic. It is added that in all probability ships of heavier draught than has hitherto been allowed by the regulations will be admitted to the Canal.
