ROWDYISM IN DUNEDIN.
Mormons In Trouble Again. Dunedin, May 13.
The Mormon elders were given a warm time of it on Saturday. An excited mob took possession of the ring, and the Mormons escaped with great difficulty, taking refuge in the police station, which was near by. Thousands were in waiting for them again last night, but they wisely Btayed away. Tho crowd was disappointed, and began to have some fun on its own, carrying on in a disgraceful manner. The Mayor, Mr Denni-ton, appealed to them to behave themselves, whereupon he was rushed and bis high hat knocked off. So excited was the crowd that he had to take protection in the Grand Hotel. Other gentlemen also tried to intervene, only to be douched with water. The police were powerless, and unless legal proceedings are instituted serious consequenecs will yet ensue.
