A laager was surprised at Yaaldriad, Six Boers were killed and four wounded.
Lieut. H. A Reid of the Australian Imperial Bushmen, has been gazetted a Companion of the Distinguished Service Order, for the capture of Commandant Schroeder last month. Casualties of the Victorian Mounted Rifles of Rhenosterkop, the 7th arc: Lieut. A. J. Johnston killed, Captain John Kelly died of wounds, Corporal Hammond, Troopers Littlejohn, Kclby, severely wounded.

The destruction of Hartebestefontein greatly hampered Delarey, who retreated to Wolraaranstein where the Boer capital is established. The result of the combined Brr.iah movement in Bosh Veldt and Piotersburg district is that fifteen hundred armed Burghers surrendered and were captured. The enemy will now bo less able to support the bush campaign than the British, when the roads and drifts are blocked.
