Concerning the Sobroan.

The steamer Sobroan is leaking badly, The bottom was ripped open and the fore hold is full of water.
British Coal Trade.
Pierpont Morgan has acquired a large interest in Leyland Bros’ well known line of steamers trading from Liverpool. It is feared that Morgan is aiming to obtain complete control in view of an American attempt to capture the British coal trade. Nihilist Conspiracy Discovered. St Petersburg, May 1. The discovery of Nihilist documents revealed a great conspiracy and 600 arrests have been made at Petrekowka, in the Kherson district, and they were conveyed to Warsaw citadel. Bodies of Cossacks occupy the towns of Sosnowice, Siedlica and Dembrova, in Russian Poland. A German “Jack the Hippar.” Berlin, May 1. Ludwig Graf, 26 years of age, a foreman of railway works, was arrested at Ludwigshaven, charged with committing eighteen murders similar to those of the notorious “Jack the Ripper.” He confessed that the cause was vem geance on womankind, and blamed the reading of poisonous literature for leading him to commit the crimes.
