LABOUR NOTES
The movement in trades upon circles in America for recognition of the “union label’ I —showing that goods are the product of trades unions—is growing in popularity.
A motto of several American labour organisations is—“ A lazy man is the rejected stone that never becomes the head of the corner.”
London has 1500 tenement dwellings erected by the County Council, for the benefit of the working classes. . The American Cigar Company, a huge monopoly, has absorbed 22 factories, and is erecting a factory near New York in which 5000 persona will be employed.
