The Pour River Plain Dredge Is temporarily laid up.

Mr Peter Hansen, who has the contract for the cartage of material for the pontoons from the the Great Woodstock claim on the south side of the river to the new.proprrty which the company sccurrd at Shennedosh Plat (near the Kanieri), has nearly finished the work and Mr Pearson will immediately commence to re-build them. ?

At the last meeting of the directors of the Dunstan Lead Gold Dredging Company, M'r D. Bringans, at present on the West Coast, was appointed dredgemaster and enters on his duties about the first week in May.

Messrs Coyle Bros,, have completed their contract for the cartage of the timber for the Commissioner’s F?at G. D. Company. Reefton United, (Boss) Company, has received a telegram from Maynard of the Keystone Boring Syndicate stating, “Hole completed. Bottomed at 38 feet. Prospects very poor. Proceeding with next hole to-day.” As this hole was put down at the bottom boundary, shareholders need not bo discouraged, as the gold, is supposed to be higher up the claim and the hole now being put down is about the centre of the claim and will no doubt give good results.

The export of gold from Greymonth for the month of April was 3,0110zs 13dwts 21grs, valued at 4112016 los fid.
