LIVE STOCK MARKET.

Mark Sprot and Co report their sale at Preston Road to-day':—The entry of beef consisted of about 50 head of Nelson and local fattening. There was a good attendance of local buyers and others. Best quality bullocks fetched £lO 15s, prime quality wethers 225, best heavy ewes 18s.

Messrs G. W. Moss and Co report yesterday's sales at Preston Yards as follows : The entry consisted of 46 head of cattle (local drafts), 120 sheep ex ship, and 240 sheep from the Grey Valley. The supply was in excess of the demand and prices a shade easier than late ruling rate. We sold the following stock : Pat Cattle—On account of Mr A. Smith, 7 prime quality bullocks from £7 15s to £8 15s, averaging £7 18s; 11 prime heifers from £5 2s Gd to £7 ss, averaging £5 lis. On account of Mr T. Craig, 4 prime heavyweight bullocks £lO 2s 6d to £lO 15s, averaging £lO 9s, G prime heifers £5 to £6 2s Gd, averaging £5 14s. Fat Sheep— On account of Mrs Donald 64 crossbreds from 16s !)d to 17s. On account of Mrs Evans 55 crossbrods at 17s 6d. On account of Mr C. Bellow, 25 crossbreds at 16s 9d. On account of Mr P. Corcoran, 71 crossbreds at 16s 9d. Fat Lambs—On account of Mr C. Bellew, 21 at 12s 2d. Fat and Store Pigs—2s for clients from 9s to 45s for baconcrs. Store Cattle —On account of clients 10 heifers from £3 10s to £4.

At Arahura on the 23rd inst, the entry consisted of 75 prime bullocks and heifers, which were sold at satisfactory prices to the vendors. We sold on account of Mr 11. Adamson 3 prime heifers at £5 ss, 12 prime bullocks from £7 5s to £9 7s 6d, averaging £S 4s.

Store Cattle—On account of Mr N. Paulspn 25 yearlings and 2 year olds, mixed sexes, at £2 10s. 20 cows at £2 10s.
