GREYMOUTH JOCKEY CLUB.
The regular meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club, was held at the Albion Hotel last night. Present —Messrs Potrie (chairman), Walton, Claughcsey. Yarrall, Uieseking, Bigneil, Blair, M'Carthy, Hannan, and Smith.
Letter from Mr H. A. Gordon of the River Commissiou stating that evidence would be taken on Wednesday. Messrs Sheedy, Walton, and Yarrali were appointed delegates on behalf of the club to assist in the investigations. A letter was received from the R. C. Conference asking to be advised in time regarding the dates fixed for the next race meeting.—Received and tho Secretary be asked to take required steps.
A letter was received from tho secretary of tho Hokitika Racing Club asking to be informed of the days tie Grey Club would fix for tho next meeting. Receipt of letter to be acknowledged. The question of T. Rurns's disqualification was discussed in consequence of a letter from Mrs Batchelor; and after communication from the Reefton Jockey Club was read, the action of the club was endorsed.
W. Fergus appealed against the decision of the Wosiport Club in regard to bad language. The Chairman said as the question was one fact they had no power to interfere.
Win Simpson appealed againit the action of T. H. Boris for violating a written agreement to train his horse. Resolved that there was no powsir to interfere until such time as Burns applied for a jockoy's license, no present action being taken.
