Invercargill, April 28. Ail Wyndham yesterday the adjourned inquest on the body of an infant found buried in the gutter near the township was resumed. Medical evidence was that the child had breathed but the mother having no attendance the infant might have been suffocated. A verdict was given accordingly. Barbara Cushurie. mother of the infant, aged 14 years 6 months, was thereafter charged with concealment of birth., She pleaded guilty and was remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence, bail being allowed. John Woods, charged with an Offence under the Protection of Woman law, the aforesaid girl being the subject, was committed for trial at the Supremo Court. The girl in her evidence said the accuoed was not the father of the child.
