Westport, This Day. Sailed at 1 25 p m Chas Edward for Greymouth. Timaru, This Day. Arrived at 7 a m Nithdole from Nagasaka, (Japan) Auckland, April 19. Sailed at 12 30 pin Tutauekai for Greymouth, (per press association). Iccidant to Machinery on Sonoma Auckland, April 18. The ’Frisco mail steamer Sonoma arrived at 525 pm. She left Frisco on March 30. On April 1 a high pressure piston in the port engine broke, knocking out the head and top of the cylinder. The steamer continued the rest of the tripjwith one engine making about 14knots on the voyage to Honolulu. Tinengines were compounded in Honolulu and averaged loj knots until April 12th when a low pressure piston of the compounded engine cracked. The rest ol the voyage was completed with one engine. The time occupied from ’Frisco to Auckland was 17 days 10 hours, including stoppages.
